The NC Albert Schweitzer Fellowship relies entirely on university partnerships, grants and charitable contributions from people like you to fulfill our mission of helping the next generation of professionals address health disparities in communities throughout the state.

Since 1994, NC Schweitzer Fellows have worked tirelessly to help vulnerable people live healthier lives. The selection process is highly competitive and becoming a NC Schweitzer Fellow is a great honor for those who are chosen. These Fellows follow in Dr. Albert Schweitzer’s footsteps, committing themselves to creating and carrying out year-long service projects that have a measurable impact on vulnerable North Carolinians. When the initial year ends for Schweitzer Fellows, the difference they’re making doesn’t. They join over 4,000 Fellows for Life who are shaping health policy, serving their communities directly, and supporting each other in sustaining a commitment to service.
