North Carolina Oral Health Collaborative Schweitzer Fellows Pinar Adimci Doganci and Disha Thakkar met with Senator Gale Adcock at the General Assembly on April 3 to discuss oral health advocacy and Disha’s op-ed, “It is time to increase oral health representation on the boards of non-profit health organizations.”

The Fellows, who are also UNC School of Dentistry students, enjoyed a private tour of the legislative building, including the chambers.

Senator Adcock reshared a post about the visit stating: “One of the most memorable conversations I’ve had since joining the Senate.” A big shout out to Zachary Brian, DMD, MHA, FICD, FACD for arranging this advocacy in action fellowship experience!
